This is an old track, and in fact, the last track I finished before starting on Strangle Quiet Sunset. At the time I was writing this, civil unrest was normal conversation, as the protests in Oakland had become violent. While writing music, I would regularly sift through recordings of leaders speaking during trying times as I wrestled to get a grip with the changing world around me.

In this case, I chose a radio broadcast from Winston Churchill. I imagined, being alone in a basement, listening to the radio. Would it be this blitzkrieg, or perhaps the next? Life may not exist tomorrow. Luckily, if nothing else, hope pours from my radio in unending defiance.
